Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra nears 11 million sales, which potentially makes the first S series phone with an S Pen stylus the bestselling Galaxy Note in the last five years.
Although the South Korean phone maker, Samsung, has discontinued its Note series, it still offers an Android smartphone with the same design and function. And it is no less than the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Sales
As per a news story by 9to5 Google, the premium flagship smartphone of Samsung, the Galaxy Notes S22 Ultra, is on track to achieve a monumental milestone, at least in terms of its sales figures.
A recent projection predicts that the high-end Samsung smartphone is bound to reach roughly 11 million sales in 2022.
A popular leaker on Weibo, who goes by the name Ice Universe, shared the projected annual sales of the South Korean tech giant.
And Samsung appears to be on its way to roughly a whopping 10.9 million unit sales for its Galaxy S22 Ultra.
As per a news story by GSM Arena, if Samsung achieves this sale projection before its final curtain call, the S22 Ultra is on track to outsell all the previous Galaxy Note offerings.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Is It a 'Note?'
The Galaxy S22 Ultra features the S Pen stylus, which was previously exclusive to the Samsung Note lineup.
It, in turn, became the first-ever S series device, which sports a built-in stylus. However, it is worth noting that the lower-end Galaxy S22 phones do not come with an S Pen.
So, the top-of-the-line S22 ends up inheriting the design of the Galaxy Note series phone. The S22 Ultra notably comes with a built-in stylus that users could readily carry and pull from the mobile device.
While the Galaxy S22 Ultra works like a Note, it is technically from the S Series.
But if the S22 Ultra reaches its 10.9 million sales prediction, it should be the best-selling Samsung phone with the S Pen stylus.
Samsung Galaxy Note Sales
9to5 Google notes that the recent Galaxy Note sales topped at more than 10 million units, thanks to the Galaxy Note 8.
Meanwhile, its predecessors saw dwindling sales figures. The Note 10 lineup only sold 9.5 million units, whereas the older Note 9 had around 9.6 million sales.
And the last Note series, the Galaxy Note 20, booked the lowest sales for the Samsung S Pen smartphone lineup, selling merely 7.5 million units.
