Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Shortcut: How to Take Notes Without Unlocking Your Phone

The Samsung Note series was discontinued by the tech giant in 2021, but the Galaxy S22 Ultra is its spiritual successor. The S Pen is a handy tool to have for note-taking, so you should make it easy as possible to use.

Samsung Note Series Notes

There are a couple of software features placed into the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra for the S Pen. One of the best is the ability to instantly take notes on the screen just by removing the S Pen, according to How to Geek.

This works even if the display of the smartphone is off. Any time you pull out the Samsung Galaxy S Pen, a notepad will open.

First, you need to swipe down once from the top of the screen to open the Quick Settings and tap the gear icon. Next, you need to go to the Advanced Features section. Find the S Pen and choose it.

Under the Removal section, you need to choose "When S Pen is Removed." You will have three options.

Select "Open Air Command" to open a menu with a bunch of shortcuts to different sets of tools, including the notepad. You can go straight to the notepad by choosing "Create Note."

Now, when you remove the S Pen, you will be brought to a notepad screen. There are a lot of pen and color options at the top of the screen, according to KTLA.

That is all there is to it. This is a good trick if you find yourself using the S Pen to take notes a lot. Sometimes a fleeting thought needs to be written down immediately, according to CNET.

Access Music Shortcuts

Music and podcast apps are usually some of the most-used apps on the smartphone. So it is best to put them in a prominent place. Samsung Galaxy phones have a shortcut area that is made for these apps.

Samsung Galaxy phones have a "Media Output" menu that lets you switch where the audio should be playing, phone speakers, Bluetooth earbuds, and more.

This menu also has a sport where you can add the app shortcuts. This lets you access these apps straight from the Quick Settings menu.

First, swipe down twice from the top of the screen to expand the Quick Settings. Tap the three-dot menu icon and choose "Quick Panel Layout."

Choose "Device controls and Media output buttons" and select "Show Always" or "Show When Quick Panel Expanded." Now, when you expand the settings, you will see a "Media Output" button. You just need to tap it.

The menu will show any currently playing media and some devices. At the top is a bar that says "Add App Shortcuts," that is what you want to choose.

Now, you can choose up to six shortcuts to add. Just tap the back arrow when you are done. The shortcuts will now be available in the top bar; tapping them will open the app.

This is a great trick to put your music and podcast apps in an easy-to-access location. You don't even need to use the output features.
