Tesla Model Y SUV is now open for orders in Australia and Japan a few years after its debut in the United States, as the giant electric vehicle (EV) maker attempts to expand its global foothold.
The electric SUV of Tesla, the Model Y, now has its own order page in Australia and Japan, revealing its official pricing and its estimated delivery date.

As per a news story by Drive Australia, the 2022 Tesla Model Y SUV has finally arrived in one of the largest countries on Earth, yet the biggest continent across the globe.
While the Tesla Model Y debuted in the US way back in 2019, the Australian market had to wait for three years to get their hands on the electric SUV offering of the EV maker.
Drive Australia notes that rumors have previously hinted that the Model Y is inching closer to reaching the shores of the Aussie.
Apart from Australia, the Model Y also took some time before its much-awaited arrival in Japan.
According to the latest report of Teslarati, the hit electric SUV now welcomes orders from folks in the Land of Rising Sun, none other than Japan.
Tesla Model Y and Giga Shanghai
The news outlet further suggests that the global market expansion of the Tesla Model Y hints that the EV production at its Giga Shanghai facility is ramping up once again.
The opening of Model Y orders in Japan and Australia requires the production of the electric SUV to significantly increase to feed the demand in these two massive nations.
It is worth noting that the production of the Model Y in Giga Shanghai, unfortunately, had to be put on hold amid the raging effect of COVID-19 in the Chinese city.
Tesla Model Y Australia Price
Now that the electric SUV has opened its order page in the Aussie nation, it also unveiled the pricing of the Model Y in the country.
The Tesla electric SUV comes in two variants, the Rear-Wheel Drive or RWD and the Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive or AWD Performance.
The entry variant carries the RWD nameplate, which sells for $48,895.24 or 68,900 in Australian dollars. Meanwhile, the Dual-Motor AWD Performance option holds a much more expensive price tag to the tune of $66,636 or $93,900 in Australian dollars.

Tesla Model Y in Japan: How Much is it?
The Model Y RWD retails for $46,156.97 or ¥6,190,000. The Dual-Motor AWD Performance, on the other hand, sells for $60,324.70 or ¥8,090,000, making the SUV significantly cheaper in the home of anime.
