If you are looking for a MagSafe-style convenient charging for your iPad Mini, Pitaka has good news for you!
How Much Does the Case Cost?
The tech accessories producer Pitaka just launched their newest case for iPad, the new MagEZ Case Pro for the sixth-generation iPad (Mini 6) that holds magnetic points on its back and can transfer power through the iPad's USB-C port if it's used with the pad.
You can also use the MagEZ Charging Stand to elevate the tablet and can serve as a second Qi charging spot in its base for headphones or a phone.
The MagEZ Case Pro is worth $79, while the MagEZ Charging is priced at $129.
According to Pitaka, when you use the case, you can only charge the tablet with the MagEZ Charging Stand or the Pita! Flow Charger. But if you don't have these accessories, you can charge the case through the USB-C port.

The Downside
However, The Verge noted that there is a downside to using the MagEZ stand since Pitaka's case does not use its magnets built into the back of the iPad Mini and as such, it blocks the USB-C port from the access, leaving you with no choice but to use the magnetic pad as the only way to charge the device.
But since the case itself is a stiff rubber that has a carbon fiber-like weave pattern, you will not need to transfer any data through a wired connection while the case is still on.
The case's design also ensures protection from most average drops but it is still highly recommended that you pair the case with a screen protector.
The Upside
On the upside, the case can let you charge through Apple Pencil on its right side and it also has a tiny accessory that can grab the Pencil and hold it in place when you put the iPad in a bag.
Setting the downsides aside, the MagEZ offers easy charging that only requires plopping the case near the base while the magnets do their job.
Thanks to its strong magnetic attraction, the stand will be able to hold the iPad with ease in neither landscape nor portrait orientation. Additionally, the stand can also tilt albeit it does not have any height adjustment.
However, the case and the stand do not have a charging brick and Pitaka suggests that you will need at least a 45W USB-C Power Delivery brick if you want to charge the iPad at full speed.
It is also worth noting that the base can support 7.5W charging with iPhones or up to 15 charging with several Qi devices. Hence, you can also charge iPhones through the case!
The accessories are currently available starting today, May 30th.
