Tesla 'Dashcam Unavailable' Bug
As per a recent report by Drive Tesla Canada, numerous owners of Tesla EVs have been reporting a bug that prevents them from using Sentry Mode, which also says that the dash cam is unavailable.
The Tesla news outlet reports that the dashcam bug appears to have been triggered by the 2022.12.3.2 software update. Since it has been rolled out, EV owners have started to see an error prompt that reads: "Dashcam unavailable. Check USB drive."
While the warning message says that the issue has something to do with your USB Drive, Tesla says that it is actually a software issue.
A Tesla Service team member previously acknowledged the dashcam bug, adding that its engineering team is already working hard to fix the software issue.
Tesla Service further explained that the issue has nothing to do with the USB drive of its user. Instead, the software bug is unnecessary unmounting the flash drive. Thus, preventing both the Dashcam and Sentry Mode from working altogether.
