Three months ago, GoG.com (aka Good Old Games) welcomed six classic LucasArts video games to its catalog. These were titles not available for years that could now be downloaded to PCs. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, X-Wing Special Edition and TIE Fighter Special Edition were included, along with some classic adventure games.
Today, GoG has added six more Star Wars titles for sale, and three of them have never been available for digital download before. Here are the six new titles and their prices.
• Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance* ($9.99)
• Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter* ($9.99)
• Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds Saga* ($5.99)
• Star Wars: Dark Forces (on sale for $4.79, reg. $5.99)
• Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords (on sale $7.99, reg. $9.99)
• Star Wars: Battlefront II (on sale $7.99, reg. $9.99)
(* Digital Premiere)
The X-Wing series includes some of the most beloved spaceflight simulation/fighting games ever made. Dark Forces was the first-ever FPS (first person shooter) set in the Star Wars universe; it was a landmark game and an enormous hit that came along when Doom II and Quake were taking the industry by storm.
KOTOR II is the sequel to the celebrated RPG (role-playing game) from BioWare; for the second installment, Obsidian Entertainment delivered a game that was almost as well received as the original. Galactic Battlegrounds scratched gamers' RTS (real-time strategy) itch, while the addictive tactical shooter Battlefront II is arguably still the greatest Star Wars game of all time. (A long-awaited third installment is currently in development at DICE.)
According to a timer on GoG.com's front page, six more Star Wars games will arrive in about two days. Additional LucasArts games, including several non-Star Wars titles, are expected later this year.
