'Star Wars' fans get a peek at a possible lightsaber game for the Oculus Rift

The Force is most certainly with this new story. The folks at Sixense have released an impressive video demo using the Oculus Rift technology that is quite simply Jedi-worthy. While other platforms have attempted to recreate the lightsaber experience from the "Star Wars" films, this saber-wielding demo is the real deal.

Using the new wireless motion system called STEM, the potential game would work with the Oculus Rift Developer Kit 2. Quite simply, the demo for this game is something "Star Wars" fans will be blowing up the Internet to talk about and speculate on.

While the game is not officially created by LucasFilm, LucasArts or Disney, the demo was created to feature what the new technology can do. The clip is almost four minutes of Jedi fun as a gamer in the lower right-hand corner of the screen uses the devices to take on lightsaber practice drones just like Luke Skywalker did in "Episode IV."

The result is a brilliant demo that will make any player feel like a real Jedi, even if your blood does not contain any Midichlorians.
