The "Star Wars" movies have given us countless outfits that have become ingrained in pop culture. There's Princess Leia's white tunic and double bun updo, Han Solo's rugged, black vest and, of course, Darth Vader's cloak and helmet. Now one fashion company has turned Jedi-wear into ready-to-wear.
Online retailer We Love Fine has created a clothing collection inspired by the intergalactic trilogy. Under the Goldie label, the "Star Wars" boutique collection includes a mini-dress modeled after Princess Leia's long, white gown, complete with a hood that mimics her iconic hairdo, a jacket with the "Star Wars" galaxy emblazoned on it and metallic leggings with a Darth Vader helmet pattern. Just what every girl wants.
We Love Fine first debuted the collection at San Diego Comic-Con International in July exclusively in the Lucasfilm Pavilion. If "Star Wars" isn't your bag, the website sells clothing to fit basically every fandom flavor of choice, whether you're a fan of Loki, Hatsune Miku or "Adventure Time."
Though you may think the outfits and ensembles featured in the "Star Wars" movies are more appropriate for a con than the catwalk, a few fashion designers have used the force to take their collections to a galaxy far, far away. Designer Marc Ecko has incorporated the "Star Wars" aesthetic into his Cut & Sew line for a few years now with jackets and hoodies that look just like a Stormtrooper's armor or Chewbacca's furry coat. Vans unveiled a line of "Star Wars"-themed kicks in April. Rodarte made a splash during Fashion Week in 2014 with gowns with prints featuring Luke Skywalker, Yoda and R2-D2. Actress Kirsten Dunst even wore the fashion house's Death Star dress to the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in May. Strangely enough, British label Preen also showed a collection featuring Darth Vader during London Fashion Week in February. Who knew the Sith Lord was so fashionable?
Whether you feel like dressing up like your favorite Jedi or not, one thing is for sure: Geek chic is always in.
