iPhone 14 Pro Models to Improve Refresh Rate Variability

The upcoming iPhone 14 Pro models will reportedly continue using the ProMotion displays, but with an added and improved variability for their refresh rates.

Over the past year, we have seen Apple's vast improvements to the iPhone 14 Pro variants. At that time, the Cupertino giant took advantage of the LTO panel technology responsible for more efficient screen refresh rates.

According to a report by Macrumors on Tuesday, May 24, the ProMotion feature has been a huge help for users who want to have faster frame rates on their iOs devices.

They also choose to turn this off if they want to save a chunk of battery life while using their iPhones. However, there's a glaring limitation about the displays on both iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models.

Specifically, they are limited to producing refresh rates from 10Hz to 120Hz. We don't see this on some screen displays of Samsung and Oppo smartphones, which can reach as low as 1Hz especially when a device is idle.

Refresh Rates Could Drop to 1Hz

Per Ross Young, a notable display analyst of smartphones, the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max devices could possibly hit 1Hz low for their ProMotion displays.

If the iPad maker plans to push through its plans of rolling this feature out, we could potentially see a much longer-lasting battery on the next-gen iPhones.

Speaking of LTPO displays, take the Apple Watch Series 7, for example. Since they use these screens, these smartwatches could reportedly last up to 18 hours of usage.

At the same time, the LTPO displays that Android phones usually allow showing the notifications, times, and dates on the screen with ease. This won't require the users anymore to unlock the device to see these features.

Earlier, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman said that the Cupertino giant could stick to the same features on the iPhone 13 series. Unfortunately, this did not occur amid the wave of leaks.

Improved Front Camera on iPhone 14

In another story from CNET, the South Korea-based supplier LG Innotek will reportedly install high-quality lends to Apple's upcoming flagship. The iPhone 14, which might soon debut, will have an improved front-facing camera which is much better than its predecessor.

Additionally, the same report says that the front camera will sport an auto-focus feature. Other than that, CNET also includes that the iPhone 14 is expected to come in the fall of 2022.

Another thing is that we could potentially miss the iPhone Mini variant this time since rumors suggested that Apple will only release iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Max, and iPhone 14 Pro Max soon.
