iPhone 14 rumors have been floating for a while. A lot of leaks are surrounding the upcoming smartphone recently, starting from its specs to its cameras.
The latest rumor claims that this next-gen Apple device will feature a USB-C 3.0 Lightning connector for faster data transfer. Could this be a game-changing capability for this smartphone?
iPhone 14 Rumor Hints on Faster Lightning Connector
As iDropNews initially reported last week, the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro variant is expected to drop a feature that you don't normally see on other smartphones. Apparently, the tech source concludes that this model will sport a faster USB 3.0 Lightning cable connector.
The publication adds that the Apple engineers are currently developing a suitable connector to keep up with the iPhone 14 Pro. As we know, this kind of accessory could only run at 2.0 speed. However, this technology might be the key to bringing faster data transfers for the device.
Right now, the existing Lightning connector used in the iPhones appears to be relying on the 480 Mbps data transfer. Some people consider it outdated since it only renders slow service during the data transfer.
If the Cupertino giant is hell-bent to add this extra accessory to the iPhone 14 Pro, it will be a huge breakthrough for the smartphone brand. Boasting a staggering 5Gbps speed, this USB 3.0 Lightning connector speed can surely help the professionals on their job especially when high-resolution videos are involved.
There's a chance that this rumor might arrive in the future, but it will bear a negative implication for the previous models. Having said that, Apple might also consider releasing separate models with an outdated connector just to cope with the old variants.
That's not the only leak that you need to know as of writing. 9to5Mac also writes that rumors are pointing out the possibility of bringing a port-less iPhone. It will allegedly happen first in the iPhone 14 Pro.

iPhone 14 Models to Have an Upgraded Front Camera
On Tuesday, Apr. 19, Macrumors revealed that prominent Apple leaker Ming-Chi Kuo has another rumor to share with the fans. He says that four iPhone 14 variants will be released later this 2022. In addition, they will also have a revamped front camera with an autofocus feature.
Kuo clarifies that Apple is now leaning toward camera development. The improvements will mean that the smartphones will adopt a quality depth-of-field effect in taking videos and images.
Meanwhile, autofocus will be essential for people who regularly use Zoom, FaceTime, and other video conferencing tools.
Before this rumor came out, Kuo mentioned that the iPhone 14 Pro and the Pro Max model will now allow 8K video recording thanks to its improved rear camera paired with a 48MP wide lens.
