Nitecore Offers Camera Batteries With Built-in USB-C Charging Port to Rival Sony's

Sony's camera batteries are impressive, but Nitecore has an answer to that. When it comes to a battery replacement, the first thing that you could think of is the quality of the rechargeable battery, followed by the price.

It's reasonable why many people go for branded products in doing so, but it's also good if they can explore other options, like in the case of Nitecore.

Nitecore introduces its camera batteries that could compete with Sony. The said products will feature a built-in USB-C charging port.

Before, photographers felt the hassle of replacing their camera batteries. If they have multiple gigs in a single day, a single battery won't be enough to power their camera/s, that's why they carry a reserved set of batteries for an emergency.

In most cases, the batteries can be charged by connecting them to a power source. It should be noted that this is the standard for photographers, but if one battery is missing, it might generate another problem for the user.

According to a report by Gizmodo earlier this week, Nitecore can solve this issue by introducing its UFZ100 rechargeable battery that might rival Sony's own FP-Z100 battery.

Indeed, Sony has an advantage over this when it comes to capacity since its batteries feature a 2,280 mAh capacity. Nitecore's UFZ100 falls behind this category as it only has a 2,250 mAh capacity.

From the looks of it, many photographers might consider this glaring difference as a good basis for choosing the ideal camera battery. However, Nitecore makes sure that its product has a unique feature that can outsmart Sony.

While it lacks the needed capacity, its camera battery has a surprise package for the users. Interestingly, you can charge it through a USB-C cable to a power source. You can connect it to your computer or laptop's USB port or a multi-port wall for more convenience.

Extra Features to See For Nitecore UFZ100

That's not the only thing that is interesting in Nitecore's camera batteries. Gizmodo adds it also features a LED charge status. This capability will help you determine if your battery's charge level is already critical.

If the red color flashes in, it means that the battery level is now below 10%. If it's blue, it could be over 10% but below 50%. If the green indicator appears, your Nitecore battery sits at more than 50%.

Another thing that you can check in UFZ100 is its affordable price-- something that you won't see in Sony's top-notch batteries. This option could be the one that you're looking for if you are short on your budget and urgently searching for an efficient replacement for your battery.

As of writing, Nitecore has not yet announced the pricing of its product. The company is expected to share more details about it once it becomes available to the public.

Elsewhere, Nikkei Asia reports that camera manufacturers such as Nikon and Sony will collaborate with Adobe, Twitter, Intel, and Microsoft to put an end to tampered photos (deepfakes).
