Sony PTZ Version 3.0 Update Includes SRT Protocol for SRG-400, SRG-X120, and BRC-X400 Cameras

Sony Electronics unveiled its latest update, the 3.0 version for the PTZ cameras. The company has also announced that it would now support the Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) protocol for the SRG-X400, SRG-X120, and BRC-X400 pan tilt zoom cameras.

The latest report posted by TV Technology on Wednesday, June 16 revealed that the SRT protocol has a wide range of usage for the cameras. Moreover, the latest edition of the technology introduced the addition of the HQ camera's low-latency transmission for videos.

Furthermore, Reliable Transport also covers various applications including a house of worship, education, seminars, remote production, and live events.

Earlier this year, Sony has engaged in the SRT Alliance which involves the merging of a protocol with the packet loss recovery, jitter prevention, encryption for the preservation of the video integrity and stream quality.

At the moment, you can download the latest update from the official website of the company. In line with the recent announcement, Sony also said that the 3.0 version also supports RTMP/RTMPS (Real-Time Messaging Protocol which would involve social media in the live video streaming of cameras.

Apart from that, the website also says that the PTZ camera update backs up the Adaptive Rate Control function. This is aligned to its mission of supplementing a more optimized and stable connection in the network environment (including the bandwidth availability).

Sony Throws New App For Virtual Webcam Driver

According to Ravepubs, Sony has also released an application for the "Virtual Webcam Driver for Remote Camera" which transforms remote cameras into a more refined set of tools used in lecture and web conferences. This is also said to yield a higher quality for the photos.

For its compatibility, you could install the app on your PC and choose the feature in any remote cameras such as SRG-XB25, SRG-XP1, SRG-X400, SRG-X120, and BRC-X400. You could also select the Edge Analytics Appliance (REA-C1000).

It allows you to connect the PC to up to five cameras and this setup is hassle-free on the user's end. If you want to participate in virtual seminars and workshops, this tool would be your best option during online engagements.
