Sony Xperia 1 IV leak suggests that it could be getting a massive camera upgrade, but the new snapper could significantly raise the price of the upcoming flagship phone.
The Japanese tech giant, Sony, is working on its next flagship device, the Xperia 1 IV, which is expected to release sometime in 2022.
Sony Xperia 1 IV Leak: Camera Upgrade
As per a news story by PhoneArena, a recent leak suggests that the next flagship smartphone of Sony is getting specs upgrades from its chipset to its cameras.
The most notable upgrade for the next-gen Xperia is its outstanding camera upgrade.
The current flagship of Sony sports a quad-camera rear setup. It includes a 0.3-megapixel depth sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide snapper, a 12-megapixel telephoto shooter, and, lastly, a 12-megapixel main camera.
On the other hand, the leaked camera specs of the upcoming Xperia 1 IV predict that the next-gen phone features a quad camera system with its ultra-wide sensor, dual-telephoto snappers, and main camera rocking 48 megapixels.
It is worth noting that the leak suggests that the ultra-wide angle camera could go as high as 50 megapixels.
PhoneArena said in the same report that if the latest leak is to be believed, the upcoming Xperia 1 IV could be heralded as the best camera phone for this year, 2022.

Apart from the upgraded camera system of the upcoming Xperia 1 IV, the next-gen flagship is also rumored to be flaunting a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chipset.
On top of that, rumor says that the Sony flagship features a massive 6.5 inches display, which boasts a buttery smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
Not to mention that a 5,000mAh battery powers the mobile device, which supports up to 45 watts of fast charging.
What's more, the leak also suggests that the next Sony phone is coming with a feature that has vanished in flagship offerings these days, a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack.

Xperia 1 IV Leak Price
All that said, the Xperia 1 IV could likely be an expensive phone with a rumored price tag to the tune of $1,415 for 256GB, whereas the 512GB option could cost $1,572, according to a recent report by NotebookCheck.
