YouTube is getting rid of spam comments in a new experimental beta situation in the company now, and the new feature will bring content creators and influencers a better section to read feedback from the public. The 'Increase Strictness' experiment by YouTube is now looking into a more strict content moderation from the members of the audience that subscribe to the service.
YouTube 'Increase Strictness' to Delete Spam Comments
Content creators are now taking their frustrations online, and are saying that many people are going to YouTube to spam their videos and comment unnecessary words or links in their profiles. Marques Brownlee made a video last April 1 about a new problem on YouTube, and the content creator is serious despite the spirit of the special day.
According to The Verge, other YouTubers also joined in on the topic, saying that there is a problem that the streaming platform needs to fix for a better experience for them and the audience. Content creators like Sean McLoughlin a.k.a. "Jacksepticeye," Linus Sebastian of "Linus Tech Tips," and more have spoken up about this issue.
YouTube: Spammers Are Not Welcome on the Platform
MKBHD tweeted a photo of a YouTube screenshot that first told the world of the new "Increase Strictness" feature on the platform, and it is a tool that will bring better content moderation for them. It aims to increase more of what the company offers for its moderators, and it will immediately keep spammy comments on hold instead of having them posted on the section.
YouTube and Its Content Features
YouTube recently allowed the streaming of full movies on its platform and these are available for free to all users of the service. However, there is a catch from the company, and while the annoying ads are enough to make one's experience a bust, there is another challenge for users in this matter, and it is with finding the right content to stream.
The content streaming platform is also giving power to the users, and not only to content creators. The new feature of YouTube where users can see all of the comments they posted on videos that they are following or sharing their insights to is already accessible in the service.
It means that users may delete the selected comments that they do not want to reflect on the platform anymore.
The Google-owned streaming company is focusing itself on cleaning house and bettering content on the platform that denounces the spam comments that comes from fans and trolls alike. The new service will give additional help to both the influencer and the audience that looks for valuable insight in the comments section.
