Lexus' First-Ever EV and Yoke Steering Wheel

As per a news story by The Verge, Lexus already teased a couple of photos of its upcoming EV ahead of its debut, confirming that it looks like another Toyota EV and a Tesla-like steering wheel.

The news outlet noted that the recent revelation of Lexus does not come off as a massive surprise as an EV of Toyota, the bZ4x SUV also flaunts an option to include a Yoke steering wheel.

It is worth noting that the automaker of a tech billionaire, Elon Musk, was the first to release the unconventional take on the steering wheel as it debuted the Tesla Model S Plaid.

The release of the Yoke steering wheel of the Tesla Model S sedan received mixed reactions from its users.

That said, some owners are requesting an option to have the unconventional steering wheel replaced altogether.

On the other hand, unlike Tesla, the Japanese carmaker is giving its customers an option to ditch the Yoke steering wheel and go for the traditional look that cars have been rocking for decades already.

On the other hand, Lexus has yet to announce if its first EV will also get the same treatment. So, for now, it is still unclear whether its RZ 450e is also releasing an option that features the traditional steering wheel.

Lexus' First-Ever EV

The Japanese luxury automaker showed a few exterior photos of its first EV SUV, wherein it looks like a close sibling of the Toyota BZ4X, which will be shipping later this year.

It also showcased the interior of its upcoming EV, which features a Yoke steering wheel that carries a massive Lexus logo in the middle. It also appears to flaunt a massive infotainment system, as well as a huge digital cluster.

Aside from that, Lexus has yet to release the official specs of the upcoming RZ 450e on its launch.
