While Apple is slowly changing its tones regarding third-party repairs, Samsung has decided to take a step ahead. In fact, Samsung is releasing genuine parts, tools, and even repair guides that are going to be available for owners of the Galaxy smartphone.
Samsung to Launch DIY Repair Program to Promote Circular Economy and Minimize E-Waste
According to the story by ZDNet, this is especially useful for certain people interested in performing DIY repairs. To add, the company is doing this in order to "promote a circular economy and minimize e-waste."
The announcement by Samsung follows a similar one made by Apple. Samsung is expected to kick off its program in the summer with the launch of new Samsung models, including the Galaxy S20 as well as the Galaxy S21.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ to be Included in the DIY Repair Program
Other products expected to launch along the S-series smartphones is Samsung's Galaxy Tab S7+. Aside from just the S-series gadgets, the company is also planning to expand its self-repair program to other lines of devices in the future.
Display assemblies, charging ports, and back glass are among the parts that Samsung will be making available to the public. The company will also be launching tools as well as guides in order to help owners who want to repair their devices DIY-style.
Samsung Executive Says Company Wants to Extend Product Lifespan Through 'Premium Care Experience'
As per a Samsung Electronics America's executive, at their company, they are creating more ways in order to help consumers extend the lifespan of the products they buy from Samsung through releasing "premium care experiences."
The company executive also said that the availability of self-repair will help give consumers both convenience as well as additional options for solutions that are sustainable.
Samsung to be Collaborating with iFixit for Upcoming Self-Repair Program
Samsung will be working with the leading online repair community called iFixit for their upcoming self-repair program. With that, full details regarding Samsung's collaboration is expected to be released upon the launch of the program.
The CEO of iFixit, Kyle Wiens, said that they are excited to work with Samsung and will be consulting the company in order to assist in developing a DIY parts solution along with repair information. As per Wiens, every time a device is fixed, this would help the planet.

Samsung to Offer In-Person and Same-Day Services Across Multiple Locations
For the rest of the users who do not want to pick up the screwdriver and start repairing the device themselves, the company will be offering same-day service at their Samsung service locations and 2,000 Authorized Service Centers.
To add, Samsung is also launching 550 "We Come To You" vans for in-person service located within a 30 to 60 minute drive.
