Windows 11 has not re-introduced the long-gone feature that Microsoft fans have been longing to see after some time. However, there are vivid hints that it might be on the verge of returning very soon.
According to the latest leak from a known developer, the File Explorer Tabs will be making its way once again on the Windows OS. Here's what to expect about this most requested feature in the platform.
File Explorer Tabs Leak
Select testers who have access to the Windows Insider Program Dev channel have not yet seen any trace of the File Explorer Tabs. Although it's not present publicly for some developers, there's an indication that it is coming back on Windows 11.
As XDA Developers spotted via Rafael Rivera's tweet, the particular Windows 11 version 22572 will be having it under feature 34370472.
Judging from the screenshots, the neat interface preserves the original layout for the File Explorer.
Since this is allegedly arriving on Windows 11, users might have some adjustments in using it because of the weird placement of the icons at the bottom part of the screen.
If this is coming for real, they could take the opportunity to benefit from an improved browsing experience of the OS to boost their productivity in using Office apps.

Microsoft Kills 'Sets' Together With File Explorer
Speaking of this feature, Microsoft previously launched "Sets" which allows users to see a lot of tabs in every app window. However, it was shortly stopped along with the File Explorer.
Most importantly, Microsoft might just be storing this in the Dev Channel so it still depends on the tech giant if it will push through its release or cancel it before the shipping takes place.
Although there's a chance that we might see File Explorer in the next few months, the best thing to do right now is to wait for Microsoft's official announcement about this update.
It's also likely for the company to unveil this together with the new Windows 11 release. Aside from that, we might anticipate the arrival of touch features for the users in the upcoming Windows build.
The big feature update for the newest Windows OS could come in Q2 2022 under Version 22H2. Tech Times reported that you can test this "Sun Valley" update by going to the Insider Program and Dev Channel.
Elsewhere, the "Your Phone" feature of Windows 11 has added a new menu for recently-launched Android applications.
Microsoft Clipchamp on Windows 11
According to The Verge, the Redmond giant might be planning to revive the long-time running Windows Movie Maker through the release of Clipchamp. This video editing application functions just like Adobe Premiere Pro through different features such as trimming, making transitions, and more.
On top of that, it also boasts a screen-recording capability along with a text-to-speech generator powered by Azure. This will be a useful tool in creating voice overs for videos.
