Microsoft Windows 11 "Your Phone" feature adds a new menu that shows the recently opened Android apps from your smartphone.
Microsoft Windows 11 'Your Phone': Recently Opened Android Apps
As per a news story by Windows Central, Microsoft officially announced that a Windows update is introducing a new quick access menu to the "Your Phone" app on Windows 11.
The preview of the new feature is initially rolling out to the Windows Insider users, along with a select number of Samsung smartphones.
The Unpacked event of Samsung, which also debuted the Galaxy S22, unveiled the new feature on "Your Phone." Microsoft followed the announcement of the South Korean phone maker in a tweet, confirming its upcoming feature.
The principal program manager lead of Microsoft, Analy Otero Diaz, said that a new feature on "Your Phone" is "coming your way."
Diaz further explained that recently opened apps on your Android smartphone would then be shown from the taskbar of your Windows machine.
The Microsoft principal program manager noted that it should make "it easier to go back to the apps that you were recently using on your Samsung phone."
The tweet of Diaz comes with a screenshot of how the new "Your Phone" recently opened apps feature works, showcasing a pop-up entitled "recently used on Taylor's Phone."
The mini flyout from the taskbar shows the three most recent apps from the smartphone of the user. However, if they want to see more than that, there is an option to "View all apps," which shows all of the apps on your smartphone as the name clearly suggests.
It is worth noting, though, that the feature is only exclusive to Samsung devices. Windows Central added that it comes despite the fact the Surface Duo similarly carries support for the "apps" feature of "Your Phone."
But still, Microsoft has yet to announce any support for the Surface Duo.

Windows 10 'Your Phone' and Samsung Devices
According to a report by OnMsft, Microsoft clarified that Windows 10 users are also getting the new feature from the "Your Phone" app.
However, you should have your paired Samsung smartphone update to OneUI 3.1.1 or whatever is the latest out there.
Microsoft said that various Samsung mobile devices are part of the recent apps feature on Windows, including the S Series models, Note series devices, Z Fold lineup, and Z Flip phones. But it is to note that the tech giant failed to mention specific supported devices.
