Apple Website Down: Technical Difficulty Happens Hours Before Event

While Apple fans remained excited about the soon-to-launch Apple event, the company, on the other hand, was experiencing technical difficulties. With that, the main Apple website was down just shy of the official event.

Apple Store Online Down for 'Peek Performance' Event

According to the story by MacRumors, Apple's initial online storefront has suddenly shut down ahead of the upcoming Apple event called "Peek Performance," which was expected to take place later on today.

The upcoming event was expected to include an introduction to a number of new Apple products expected to hit the market later this year and maybe even for the years after this year. There were, however, certain products that fans were expecting to get during the event.

Potential Products Expected to be Announced

The Cupertino giant is expected to reveal the upcoming next-gen version of the company's popular budget iPhone SE. On top of this, the company is said to also announce a newer "revamped iPad Air."

Aside from the mobile to semi-mobile products, Apple is also expected to reveal "at least one Mac with an Apple silicon chip." As per rumors, the new Mac could be called the "Mac Studio" machine.

New iOS, iPadOS 15.4, macOS Monterey 12.3, and Universal Control

The company, as per rumors, is also expected to unveil a brand new standalone display that could bear the name "Studio Display." In addition, announcements could include more details regarding the service front of the company as per MacRumors.

The virtual event could also be announcing the dates of release for both the iOS as well as the iPadOS 15.4 along with the macOS Monterey 12.3. This would be through the use of Universal Control.

Apple 'Peek Performance'

The event tagline itself is called "Peek performance," and as per MacRumors, could be prompting suggestions that the company would be offering a peek at its upcoming products. As of the moment, the publication clarifies that future products remain "purely speculative."

As per an article by CNet, the Apple Store was down before the "iPhone SE Event." To be more specific, the upcoming Apple Peek Performance event is set to launch on Mar. 8 at 10:00 A.M. PT or 1:00 P.M. ET.

Is This a Regular Occurrence?

The website notably said "be right back" along with the statement that "Updates are coming to the Apple Store." However, the article by CNet says that downtime is actually part of the traditional buildup to Apple's events.

The article by CNet says that this is as the company is preparing to add new products to its lineup. Based on the same article, users will be able to access the Apple Store after the event once again to put in preorders for the new products announced.
