Imagine a 2,000W motor on an electric bike. This record-breaking development has just been created by Biktrix, a Canadian electric bike brand, and is now being called the Juggernaut XD.
How the Electric Bike Pushes Power
Based on Express.co.uk story, the team decided to craft two different drivetrains on the bike with a chain located on the right that would transfer the effort coming from the pedals to the groupset located in the rear with yet another chain on the left to help with the motor's thrust.
Although the bike's standard components are handling push-power, the motor relies much more on certain parts closer to motorbikes when it comes to output. This means that human power is dealt with by human-designed components "while the motorcycle-like power" gets handled by the electric bike's even stronger components.
Juggernaut XD Can Go Up to 40Mph
The Juggernaut XD's designers reportedly claim that the bike can go all the way up to 40mph. Users, however, will only be able to reach these types of speeds in the private property if they are in the UK due to the law that only allows electric bikes to go up to just 15.5mph.
Should users want to go faster, it was noted that the government says that models like the Juggernaut XD would be classified as mopeds meaning users will have to get a registration and even pay tax.
Video Shows Electric Bike Pulling Almost a Ton
The team behind the Juggernaut XD released a video showing how fast, powerful, and basically what the electric bike is capable of doing. The Juggernaut XD also can't be considered a toy since it is capable of much more.
Within the video, Biktrix also showed that the Juggernaut XD is capable of carrying a caravan that weighs almost a ton, which is usually only possible when one uses a car. With that, one issue that some users might have is the battery life if they do plan on carrying heavy weights for long distances.
Where Can the Electric Bike be Bought?
For short distances, however, the article by Express.co.uk notes that it wouldn't be a problem and that the bike is enough. Of course, this type of durability comes at a cost. As of the moment, the bike is only available in both Canada and the US.
The Juggernaut currently has an early bird price of $4,999 but will retail at $5,999. As of the moment, the early bird promo is available for orders on the official Biktrix website and is set to start in the Fall of this year.
The website, however, says that the first two product runs are currently sold out and that they are unable to accept reservations. Biktrix notes that for those that want to buy the bike, there is a waiting list for them to save a spot.
