Get to know more about the recently-unveiled Segway GT2 Electric Scooter and find out if this freakingly-speedy EV is worth the price or not. Segway

According to a report by Electrek, this beast scooter was introduced on Wednesday, March 2 with its whopping price tag of $4,000. Segway announced that it would be launched this upcoming summer.

For the specs, you don't have to worry about its power thanks to its 1500-watt motor. If you're worried about flat tires, this powerful standing scooter has 11-inch wheels which could withstand air shock.

Although it's freakingly speedy, its weight might not be suitable for everyone. Weighing more than 114 pounds, you can't just lift it easily unlike the other light e-scooters on the sidewalks.

Surprisingly, Segway-Ninebot also said that more scooters will be released soon. There's a GT1 variant that runs at a top speed of 37.3 mph. Besides this less-impressive vehicle, there are these so-called "P-Series" e-scooters which are more advanced than the G30 line-up.

Furthermore, the EV maker also announced the debut of the E110A. For skateboard fans, you can now purchase a "Shredder Kit" which instantly transforms your standing scooter into a huge electric skateboard.

Segway Head Believes GT2 as 'Formula 1' Car of Scooters

In another article written by Mashable this week, Segway boss Alex Huang Chen considered the GT2 scooter as the "Formula 1" in its world.

In line with the company's mission, Segway vows to "simplify the movement of people and objects" while it contributes to mitigating environmental impacts through creating EV alternatives.

While this beast scooter is appealing to everyone, Huang Chen clarified that it's not for all people.

"GT is not for everyone. It's for riders who want the speed, the wild[ness], the dopamine. But, of course, safety first!"

In addition, he continued to remind the riders to prioritize their safety when using the e-scooter.

Most importantly, you can access different modes using this product. You can explore these options such as race, city, and country.

For thrill-seekers who want to feel the wind and its power, you can select the race mode.

Pocket-Lint stated that the potential release of this EV model could be around Q2 or Q3 2022.
