Twitter is now testing out a Community feature that would allow users to upload 1080p videos. The feature is currently being tested out, allowing users to create high-resolution videos on Twitter at last.
Twitter Tests Out a Feature Allowing Users to Upload High-Res 1080p Videos
According to the story by XDA-developers, while Twitter originally started out being a simple platform with a post limit of 140 characters, the platform is currently testing out a way for users to upload high-resolution 1080p videos.
Recently, the company has tried introducing a number of different changes, including the newer Twitter Blue allowing subscribers to pay a premium to gain access to certain Twitter creators' posts. Labs is another section that the platform includes, which is only accessible to paying users.
Twitter Community Creation and Other Additional Features Spotted
On top of this, Twitter is also rolling out Community creation to both paying and non-paying users. Before this, users interested in gaining access to Community still had to fill out and submit a form to Twitter.
The publication has discovered a "+" icon on Community, which allows users to tweet directly towards different members within the same Community. The feature was likened to the current Facebook Groups feature.
Twitter Labs and Other Features Expected to be Added
Quite interestingly, however, the tweets won't appear on the users' personal profiles or timelines. They will be only exclusively visible to the exact Community that they were posted on.
In one of the latest experiments by Twitter Labs, the company is testing out a way for users to upload high-resolution 1080p videos from the users' desktop website. As of the moment, the feature is only available exclusively to Blue subscribers.
Will the Feature be Available for Free Users?
For free users, however, the feature is not yet available as of the moment. It is also currently unclear as to whether the company will be releasing the feature for non-Blue users.
The publication also noted that it is currently difficult to guess whether or not the feature will be made available for non-Blue users later on. With that, it is almost guaranteed that users paying a premium will be able to access this feature somewhere down the road.
Evidence of the New Twitter Feature Allowing 1080p Video Uploads
The publication also notes that there are currently a few traces of the feature found in the Twitter mobile app. Jane Manchun Wong tweeted out the feature on Twitter, showing that the platform can support 1080p 60fps videos.
Another tweet by Alessandro Paluzzi showed how the feature is coming to Labs which would finally allow users to upload 1080p videos directly to the Twitter site as well. In addition, a sneak peek was also added by the same publication showing how users will be able to create their own Community.
