According to a report from XDA, there are many things that you can do the first time you obtain the newest OS for your PC. From checking the updates to uninstall outdated software, let's immediately dive into the tasks.

Remove Taskbar Apps

When you hover over Windows 11, you will notice a lot of icons on the Start menu and taskbar. You might find some of them to be useful, while others could now be removed. It's always a good thing to get rid of apps that you don't need anymore.

As you search for them, you can start cleaning up by right-clicking the empty space on the taskbar and tapping the settings. You will be directed to the Settings so you could choose what icons will you enable or disable.

You can also unpin some of them from Start and even uninstall unnecessary apps that you think could only add space to your PC.

Check New Updates

We often ignore the regular updates for our PC and without our knowing, they have a huge impact on the overall performance of our computer. Getting Windows 11 will mean updating all the features that you used on Windows 10.

To get the newest updates for the most recent OS, go to Settings and search Windows update. After that, tap the "Check for updates." The updates will now be launched, downloaded, and installed.

Disable Apps You Don't Need

Removing all apps you don't need will allow your PC to run faster. This is a recommended thing to do especially when unloading applications. You still have the option to re-download them if you want to reuse them some other time.

Deactivating startup tasks will pave the way for a healthier performance of your computer.

Change Windows 11 Appearance

Windows 11's interface is different from Windows 10, and this is why we recommend you to do such a thing. In this new OS, you can completely customize the look of it depending on your preference.

From the Settings app, look for the Personalization page and you can now see every available option that you can apply. You can apply preset themes on the page and even alter background photos and colors.

Activate Clipboard History

Windows 11 features a unique option of keeping many items on the clipboard whenever you want them. To do so, press the Windows key, and V, and the history window will be prompted to open. By default, this feature is disabled.

To enable it, tap Turn on and click the Windows key + V again if you want to copy an item on the clipboard.

Organize your notifications

If you have apps installed on your PC, expect that some notifications related to them will pop out of nowhere. Actually, you can control the apps that could send notifications in your system.

To start, go to the Settings and tap the System page. Search for Notifications and click it. You can adjust the settings for each app's notifications.

OneDrive Set-up

If you are thinking of using dedicated cloud storage, you can set up OneDrive right away on your Windows 11. To change the settings on this service, go to Settings, then tap the arrow icon on the taskbar's right corner.

After that, tap the OneDrive icon.

Install a Web Browser

Obtaining the Windows 11 OS is not complete without setting up a browser of your choice. Usually, the system will prefer Microsoft Edge, but you can still select other options such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

To begin, go to Settings and select Apps. Tap Default apps, and you can now check the list of all the apps. Browse further and choose the preferred browser.

Install Apps

Installing is now made easier through Windows 11. From the MS Store, you can install applications that you want to use. Click Settings and go to the Activation page. Don't forget to switch the option to Windows 11 Pro or Home. This would lead you to Microsoft Store.

Merge Drive Partitions

From your hard drive, you can merge partitions, but it comes with a risk so think twice before doing this thing. To do so, right-click the Windows icon, then go to Disk Management. You can see multiple partitions on your computer.
