Elon Musk Tried to Get a Job at Netscape
A Twitter post written by Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley account shared a video of Elon Musk sharing that he had tried to apply to Netscape once and then started to hang out in the lobby. He was reportedly too shy to talk to anyone, realizing that he had to start his own company.
An article on CNBC revealed that Elon Musk initially arrived in California back during the 1990s. The now billionaire tech titan had tried and also failed to get a job at Netscape Communications.
This is the company responsible for creating the first-ever web browser called Netscape Navigator!
Elon Musk Moved to Silicon Valley
Elon Musk initially moved to Silicon Valley to attend Stanford graduate school and hoped that he would be able to get involved in the internet. Elon Musk even detailed that he wasn't really sure what he initially wanted to be when he grew up.
The tech CEO noted that he initially thought that inventing stuff or even creating things would be quite a cool thing to do. However, younger Elon Musk wasn't initially sure if it meant starting a company or working for a company that could make those cool stuff. This was according to Elon Musk's statement to Kevin Rose, published in 2012.
Elon Musk Back in 1995
Elon Musk shared that back in '95, he still thought that the internet would potentially be something that would change the world in a motorway, and he did want to become a part of it. Elon Musk then applied for a job at Netscape. At 50, the SpaceX CEO has had quite a remarkable timeline of Elon Musk's achievements.
Elon Musk even explained that he wouldn't have tried to start a company and that he would try to get a job at Netscape. Elon Musk originally came from South Africa and had his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He was also working towards getting a graduate degree at Stanford. However, this did not seem to impress anyone over at Netscape.

Elon Musk Before Zip2
Elon Musk did not get in despite having a physics and economics degree or rather a physics and a business degree from Wharton. He was also doing his grad studies in applied physics and material science but still lacked a computer science degree or experience working at a software company. Elon Musk has had an interesting life, even including a failed spinal surgery.
Elon Musk tried not to give up and hung out in the Netscape lobby but remained too shy to talk to anyone. He explained that it was pretty embarrassing and noted that he was too scared to talk to anyone before leaving. After this, Elon Musk founded Zip2, which is now known as PayPal, and the rest is history.
