Sparklight's Cable and Internet service are down, among others, as the company faces an outage that is not yet fully resolved and is giving customers a hard time as revealed via its Twitter Support. The company is formerly known as "Cable One," and covered areas in multiple states in the country which are currently affected.
Internet is a massive thing now, especially as companies like Toshiba are focusing their efforts on making the so-called "Quantum Internet" makes it more powerful than before. That being said, a lot of service providers like Sparklight also hold a stake in modern internet connections.
Sparklight: Cable, Internet is Down
Sparklight recently released a statement that confirmed that its internet service is down, along with its cable connections for its television via its statement on Twitter. Initially, it affected those who are hit by a tornado storm in Dexter, Missouri, but as restoration efforts have continued, an outage spread across other states.
Soon after, Sparklight confirmed that it has been experiencing service outages in several areas but did not confirm which areas in the country have been hit by this nuisance. The company advised people to visit their support website so that people can check whether they have an outage or only a faulty modem.
That being said, more than six hours ago, Sparklight confirmed that it has been "investigating reports" and is trying to fix the problem and restore connections across the US.
Sparklight Service Outage is Extensive
Sparklight's service outage is extensive and a massive one, as it did not only affect that of its cable and internet service, as its support was also overwhelmed and cannot fully accommodate its customers. Its phone lines and customer portal were also said to be affected by the outage, with the company already looking into fixing it as well.
As to the reason why the company is experiencing this, Sparklight has not revealed why it encountered a problem with its services and what is the root cause of this outage. It only said that its technicians are working to restore it, and services would return as soon as possible.
Sparklight has not revealed any form of attacks against their services or servers, despite the massive trend of cyberattacks against companies, including that of Kaseya from the REvil ransomware gang.
When Will Service Get Back?
The latest update from Sparklight said that users must reboot their modems so that internet services may resume and be back online. However, it was not said if this was a permanent fix, or would it work for all users.
Rebooting one's modem is worth trying out, especially if internet connection is of the essence and is currently needed by the customer. Sparklight said that its connections are slowly going back to normal as technicians have fixed several of the issues, but are not yet a full restoration of services.
