Xbox Series X and Series S are some of the most in-demand gaming gadgets in the market. Because of this, Microsoft has been integrating various popular games into its giant gaming platform.
And now, Microsoft Inc. wants to use the AI-upscaling method to enhance the games available on Xbox Series X. As of now, the tech firm hasn't confirmed if it will also do the same with Xbox Series S.
Artificial intelligence-upscaling is already used by other tech companies, such as AMD and Nvidia. Now, a new job listing claimed that Microsoft will join these companies soon.
"Xbox is leveraging machine learning to make traditional rendering algorithms more efficient and to provide better alternatives," said Microsoft in its job listing for a Senior Software Engineer.
"The Xbox graphics team is seeking an engineer who will implement machine learning algorithms in graphics software to delight millions of gamers," added the tech giant firm.
How Xbox Series X's AI-Upscaling Works?
According to Microsoft's latest blog post, the interested individual for the Senior Software Engineer position must be capable of doing researchers and making prototype machine learning algorithms.
On the other hand, the one who will work in Xbox Series X's AI-upscaling should have the following qualifications:
- Experience with machine learning or data science
- 5+ years of software development experience
When it comes to the method itself, the new AI-upscaling of Microsoft works by producing lower-quality images for the game--this will degrade the title's performance at first. However, AI will release additional pixels to upscale the content that has higher resolution.
Specifically, Microsoft wants to make the games of Xbox Series X more detailed at just 1080p, which is a lower output content compared to other titles. The tech firm also claimed that if AI-upscaling is integrated into Xbox Series X's titles, they will have lower output content and resolutions comparable to 4K games.
As of the moment, Microsoft still hasn't confirmed when will it start rolling out its own AI-upscaling technology, as reported by Tom's Guide.
Where To Buy Xbox Series X?
NewsWeek reported that GameStop, Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg, and Walmart are usually receiving Xbox Series X, Series S, and PS5 units.
However, this will still depend since many people are still trying to get their hands on one of the consoles. Aside from them, you will also have to go against bots, which scalpers commonly use.
