The iOS 15 is the latest software upgrade from Apple, and it has an under-the-radar feature that can be found in the Files app.
Apple product users can now edit PDFs on their iPhones and iPads, and they can insert, rotate, scan, and even remove pages.
iOS 15 Files App
When iOS 14 was launched, the Files app has given users the ability to markup, share, and view PDF files. However, it has not allowed the option to edit PDF files directly on an iPhone or an iPad, according to 9to5Mac.
Now, the new iOS 15 update has the functionality to edit PDF files on iPhones and iPads with just a few taps.
How to Edit PDFs on iOS 15 iPhone and iPad Files App
So how can you edit your PDF files on your iPhone and iPad in the iOS 15 Files app? First, you will need to run the iOS 15, open the Files app, and open the PDF that you want to edit.
Next, from the left edge of your iPhone, swipe to the right to see the thumbnail page view. It should show up automatically on your iPad. Press and hold a page on your PDF file, or you can tap a page twice to open the edit feature.
Now you have the option to rotate, insert blank or pages from files, delete pages, or even scan in new pages. If you add a blank page, you will need to fill out a form, or you can use the Markup tools to do so. As soon as you are done, tap Done to save your changes.
In the new edit menu of iOS 15, you will see the page that you've selected at the top. You will also see the menu with the Rotate Left, Rotate Right, Insert from File, Insert Blank Page, Scan Pages, and Delete options.
When you want to save your files, just tap the Done button in the top left corner of the screen.
As for Markup, it is easy to add things like a text box to fill out forms, your signature, shapes, and a magnifier. Tap the + icon located in the bottom right corner of the Markup toolbox to see the options.
The new Files app PDF editing in iOS 15 may not be as powerful as the PDFPen and Adobe Acrobat, but it can come in handy when you are in a hurry and when you need to make minor changes.
iOS Accessibility Features
The iOS 15 was first previewed by Apple during the WWDC 2021. The iOS 15 has different functions that are better suited for newer iPhones, according to MacRumors.
Some of the Accessibility features that will be included in the iOS 15 are VoiceOver for exploring images, Markup for voice image descriptions, Switch Control for sound actions, background sounds, per-app settings, import audiograms, magnifier app, and Accessibility memoji.
The iOS 15 will also feature new voice control languages, including Mandarin Chinese, French, Cantonese, and German. These new voice control languages will Siri speech recognition technology for accuracy as you dictate the commands in the language that you prefer.
The iOS 15 is now available to download on your iPhone.
