Apple's iOS 15 Beta 2 has been rolled out to developers this Friday, June 25, for further testing. As expected, the latest update fixed existing bugs. Additionally, it refreshed the Maps icon, memoji outfits, and a lot more.
The iOS 15 beta 2 is the first update after it debuted during the WWDC 2021. It launched alongside the iPadOS 15 beta 2, the watchOS 8 beta 2 for the Apple Watch, and the tvOS 15 beta 2 for Apple Tv and HomePod, as per 9to5Mac.
To note, the macOS Monterey has yet to release its first update. It launched together with the list of OS above.
Apple iOS 15 Beta 2 Fixes Bugs
Betas and updates like these are, of course, necessary to improve existing bugs. That said, the iOS 15 Beta 2 has sorted out a couple of issues.
The issue involving the failure of connecting a phone to CarPlay while in a SharePlay session has been resolved, as well as the bug that is making the Mute and Route Overview buttons disappear in some cars.
Some thumbnails in the iOS 15 and iPad 15 experienced a white or black grid overlay, but this update fixed just that. Also, the first update resolved the error in Panorama mode occurring while Low Power Mode is enabled.
The iOS 15 Beta 2 has also resolved other minute details. Here is the entirety of the release notes.
Apple iOS 15 Beta 2 Adds Apple Maps Icon
A Twitter user who goes by the username @francescop17 tipped MacRumors that Apple's Maps received a refreshed icon.
The Maps icon now sported more vibrant colors and a more minimalist style. And, the most obvious change is the removal of the Interstate 280 shield at the bottom-right. Its icon aside, there are no known changes for the said app.
Apple iOS Beta 15 Memoji Outfit Update
MacRumors also reported that the latest update also adds more Memoji outfits. Users could dress up their avatars with diverse clothing available.
Based on the tweet that revealed the change, there seem to be multiple cultural references for the additional cosmetics. It has clothing perhaps coming from an Asian or Western country.
iOS Beta 15 Other Features
Notably, the second iOS 15 beta is also introducing SharePlay. The new feature enabled users to share their Apple TV or Apple Music apps as they FaceTime with their loved ones.
On top of that, Safari also saw some interface tweaks. The browser now has its reload and reader button in the address bar.
The iOS 15 is currently only available for users who signed up in the Apple Developer Program. The general public will be allowed to download the beta in July. However, the commercial release of the operating system is set to happen in the fall.
