Gizchina reports that according to many rumors, Samsung will soon expand its mid-priced A-series smartphones with the Galaxy A82.

That was confirmed by the announcement of the device in the Google Play Console database. The phone was named the Galaxy Quantum 2; it was the quantum variant of the base Galaxy A82, and it was equipped with 6 GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 855+ chipset.

On the outside, the new product hardly differs from the previously presented Galaxy A52 and A72. There is a thin frame around the 2400 x 1080 pixel FHD display.

Moreover, the lack of a front camera hole, which was implemented in the Galaxy A80, refutes rumors about the folding main camera module's return. The Samsung Galaxy A82 and its quantum variation are expected to be launched by the end of Q2.

The information from the database provided indicates that the smartphone will be built on the Snapdragon 855+ chip. The decision to use the Snapdragon chip was most likely due to its specialization in particular markets.

Galaxy A82 will feature an OLED display, IP67 water, dust resistance, a battery with at least 4500mAh capacity, a display refresh rate of at least 90 Hz, and the price to reach $ 500.

GSMArena reports that The Galaxy A82 will skip a generation and be the successor to the Galaxy A80. This particular phone had a way to turn the main cameras into a selfie camera by swiveling them to the front or popping them up to the front. Whatever you call it, it is not a feature you see very often. This will allow it to proudly be called "the first 5G-smartphone with a rotating camera block".

It's still unclear if the A82 has a similar camera setup. However, a new rumor indicates that the primary camera will feature a 64 MP resolution just like the A52 / A52 5G / A72 models. The sensor for the A82 is from Sony and is not Samsung's own. It may be the IMX686.

Samsung's latest move is not the first time it has selected to work with a competitor's sensor. Sony's design appears to be preferable.

The Galaxy A82 is expected to be released first in South Korea. It is unclear if it will be released globally in the future. In Korea, the device will likely have a quantum random number generator chip similar to that of the Galaxy A Quantum released last May.
