A lot of interesting revelation involving future "Genshin Impact" updates have been coming out these past few months, and it has all been courtesy of game leakers and dataminers.
Genshin Impact updates
First, there was the Transient Resin leak that was revealed by members of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlour Discord server just a few days ago, and now the same Discord group is revealing a set of new weapons that may be coming to the video game.
Given that "Genshin Impact" release updates often, leaks and datamining have become a very common practice for members of the RPG's community.
The past leaks have revealed new characters and statuses ahead of their intended release as well as character animations and abilities in some cases.
miHoYo, the developer of "Genshin Impact," has claimed the leaks and datamines are harmful to the game and its community, but this has done little to slow the flow of new information coming from dataminers and beta testers.
Datamining for weapons is one of the most expansive leaks yet, and new leaks have been making rounds online recently, with the information coming from Zluet, a well-known Twitter user in the gaming community.
Zluet stated that they are sharing content discovered by the Wangsheng Funeral Parlour Discord community and further notes that just because the weapons were discovered within the game, it does not necessarily mean that they are coming soon.
Among the newly discovered weapons are majestic 5-star bows, swords, claymores, and catalysts, as well as 4-star catalyst, bow, and sword.
This is not the first time that "Genshin Impact" weapons have been leaked, and much like previous datamines, only the names and the images of the weapons have been revealed.
For now, it seems like the weapon's abilities and the possible stat boosts remain a mystery.
Visually, the weapons look amazing. The swords would definitely fit in "Genshin Impact's" underappreciated character Xingqiu, and the bows and claymores have a certain level of flair to their designs that fans of the game have come to expect from the RPG title.
The leaked 5-star polearm, Regicide, also has a level of "Genshin Impact" charm in its appearance and would look right at home in Xiao's hands.
Although it remains to be seen when these weapons will become available in the game, a version 1.5 update is expected to come to "Genshin Impact" at the end of April, and it is possible some of the weapons revealed in the datamine could come as soon as the update goes live.
Nevertheless, it's bring to take the news with a pinch of salt.
Regardless, version 1.5 may bring house crafting as well as three new events to the RPG, so either way, there will be a lot of new content.
Is Genshin Impact still coming to Switch?
In an interview with Inverse last year, miHoYo confirmed that a Nintendo Switch version is already in development, but did not give a timetable for its release.
The fact that a Switch version of "Genshin Impact" has not been release yet is somewhat surprising, given that the game was announced for the Nintendo Switch as far back as January 2020, when a trailer was released during a Nintendo Direct reveal in Japan which was posted on "Genshin Impact's" YouTube account.
However, it has been confirmed that the game will be coming to PlayStation 5.
