Google Nest Mini, Nest Hub, and other smart speakers received an exciting feature. The new Guest Mode will keep your personal data safe when there are other people visiting your house.

This means that the new feature will limit your device's access to your personal Google data temporarily. The Verge confirmed that the new mode is now available.
You can enable it by saying "Hey Google, turn on guest mode." After that, the speaker will act less like your personal AI assistant and more like a public Google Assistant terminal.
Google Guest Mode's use
Once the new Guest Mode is turned on, your Google account's queries will no longer be saved and some of your personal data, such as your calendar, won't be shown.
Although this is the case, your Nest Hub or Nest Mini can still perform basic tasks such as answer questions, play music, and set timers. However, people should remember that this feature doesn't act like a security feature.
Why? Because you can easily turn it off the way you activated it. Your smart speakers also need to be connected to your account so they can continue accessing all the integrations you have set up with smart lights, music, and more.
This means that you can't use it to host AirBnB parties. Google also has another mode called Hospitality mode. This feature works specifically for hotels.
Once you turned off the new Guest Mode, your queries will automatically be saved again to your Google account. However, the tech giant company announced that your audio recordings won't be saved by default anymore. It can only do this if you choose to activate it.
Other ways to activate Guest Mode
According to The Ambient's latest report, users can also activate Google's Guest Mode using Chromecast. The process works the same when using video apps on a TV with Chromecast built-in. All you need to do is to visit the Google Home app and choose the smart speakers you are going to use. Select the Chromecast option and activate Guest Mode.
After the feature is activated, you can now inform your guests that they can go to apps like BBC iPlayer, HBO Go, Google Play Movies + TV, Netflix, YouTube, and more.
