The company Niantic, that created games like Pokemon Go and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, has been adapting to the changes this world needs right now to keep people at home and having fun at the same time. This is to encourage going outside to play as well as practice social distancing, of course.

Niantic had made the change not long ago since we already had written an article about this when Pokemon Go started to get changes to adapt in-door playing with incentives as well as adjustments to their market and such.

What's the Scoop
Niantic has been doing well with their two games right off the bat since it caters to people who love VR games, most notably Pokemon Go and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. They changed the core gameplay to deter the spread of the coronavirus and keep people safe. The two games now include both indoor and outdoor elements.
CEO John Hanke said in a release on Monday, Mar. 30, "We are adding to our product roadmap so we can enable more ways to play inside and around the home in the coming days and weeks when the world needs it most,"
"You'll soon be able to team up with friends and take on Raid Battles together in Pokémon GO from the comfort of home," Hanke said.
Niantic is also planning to add indoor step-trackers with Adventure Sync, so doing indoor tasks will be given achievements and possibly rewards, in-game. Such examples would be cleaning, running on a treadmill, cleaning the lawn, and so far will all garner achievements, and this is something to help people cope with the lockdown.
What Else is There?
Niantic also is working on ways to let players have the chance to "virtually visit and share memories about their favorite real-world places," and is doing what they can to reimagine Pokemon Go Fest. However, more details have not been made public as of this time of writing.
Now on to Wizards Unite, Hanke has said that Niantic has increased the nearness of the overall content such as Spell Energy and rare potion ingredients. In addition to this, Foundables can now spawn directly into the safety of your own house. Ingress Portals have also now been tuned to encourage at-home play for the benefit of all and discourage outdoor games for the meantime, given the circumstances.
"In areas where local authorities permit it, outdoor walks, practiced with proper social distancing, will continue to be a great way to contribute to physical and mental well being and you'll still be able to play our games while you do that,"
"The changes we are making offer an alternative when that's not possible."
