Fan of the Resident Evil franchise and stuck at home for the coronavirus quarantine? Rejoice as the Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Remake official demo is finally rolling out this week, giving you something to occupy your time while at home.
Nemesis is Coming
According to a report by Polygon, Capcom will be releasing Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City Demo on Wednesday, Mar. 19, and will be available first on Xbox One and then released an hour after for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.
The Resident 3 Remake demo will feature Jill Valentine as the playable character, along with Carlos Oliveira, as she tries to flee an infested Raccoon City and rescue innocent civilians, all the while trying to escape the terrifying Nemesis as it hunts her down.
In addition to a nerve-wracking rescue mission, the official demo will also include a special scavenger hunt where players have to find 20 Mr. Charlie statuettes hidden all over the demo.
Besides the demo itself, fans will be treated to a new and exclusive Resident Evil 3 Remake cinematic trailer after completing the demo, as confirmed by Capcom.
Still a Horror Game to Its Core
As per Gamespot, the developers have taken the formula from the highly successful remake of Resident Evil 2 but injected more action elements with Nemesis, including an all-new dodge-counter move for Jill, which she can use against aggressive enemies.
She also has some explosive barrels that can help her out when the enemies greatly outnumber her.
But, despite the more action-packed scenes, Capcom promises that Resident Evil 3 Remake is still a horror game at its core, so fans can expect fast heartbeats and sweaty palms as they navigate the doomed Raccoon City.
Capcom's announcement of the official demo coincides mostly with a Twitter user's leak.
Based on a report by VG247, a Twitter user with the handle @AestheticGamer1 previously leaked that the Resident Evil 3 Remake demo will come out on Friday, Mar. 20. Although off by a day, the Twitter user can add this prediction to their already proven track record of leaking horror game-related news.
Beta for Resident Evil Resistance's Multiplayer Mode
Meanwhile, Resident Evil 3 Remake won't be the only thing that will occupy Resident Evil fans' time.
Capcom also announced an open beta for the Resident Evil Resistance's multiplayer mode.
The RE Resistance beta will be available later this month on Mar. 27, allowing players to take on the role of one of the game's four Masterminds, Daniel Fabron, where they can run experiments on a group of innocent civilians.
You can use bioweapons and traps to make the experiments harder so the Survivors can't escape.
Besides the Mastermind, players can also take the role of one of the playable Survivors, who each possess a unique ability that can help the group escape before the time runs out.
The Resident Evil Resistance will be available as a bonus for anyone who acquires all Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Remake purchases instead of being a standalone game.
Resident Evil 3 Remake will be released for PS4, Xbox One, and Steam on Apr. 3.
