Nintendo Direct September 2019 Summary: SNES Games, 'Overwatch' Port, And More

Nintendo Switch fans have a lot to look forward to in the foreseeable future.

Nintendo just wrapped up its Direct presentation for September, and it announced a ton of stuff, from new games to expect in 2019 to a couple of releases in 2020.

SNES Games Coming To Switch Online

The Switch Online's library of free games is getting bigger with 20 SNES games, such as Star Fox, Super Mario World, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, to name three.

On top of that, a wireless SNES controller is set to hit the shelves as an exclusive to Switch Online subscribers, just to complete the SNES experience.

Overwatch Port

Overwatch on the Switch has been a long-talked-about topic, and now it's finally happening. Called Overwatch Legendary Edition, the game is scheduled to be available from the eShop on Oct. 15.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC Characters

Nintendo used its Direct presentation to announce the release of the third Challenger Pack DLC for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that adds Banjo and Kazooie to the mix.

That wasn't all it had up its sleeves, though. It also revealed that Terry Bogard from the Fatal Fury series is making his way to the fighting game, which was unearthed by an eagle-eyed fan just a few days before the official announcement.

Pokémon Sword And Pokémon Shield

Two new Pokémon Polteageist and Cramorant were showcased during Direct, as well as the new Wild Area, Pokémon Camp, and new customization features.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are scheduled to launch on Nov. 15.

Luigi's Mansion 3's ScreamPark Party Mode

A new multiplayer mode is coming to Luigi's Mansion 3 that lets between two and eight players play at the same time on one Switch.

New amiibo Figures

Three amiibos in the Super Smash Bros. franchise are launching on Nov. 15, which are Incineroar, Chrom, and Simon Belmont.
