Nintendo Switch Online's library is about to get bigger and better.
The company just announced that it's bringing SNES games to its online subscription, giving fans what they want.
SNES Games On The Switch
In a Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo confirmed that 20 games are heading to Switch Online on Sept. 5, allowing Switch owners with a subscription to access all of them free of charge.
At that, here's the lineup:
• Brawl Brothers
• Breath of Fire
• Demon's Crest
• F-Zero
• Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics
• Kirby's Dream Course
• Kirby's Dream Land 3
• Pilotwings
• Star Fox
• Stunt Race FX
• Super E.D.F. Earth Defense Force
• Super Ghouls'n Ghosts
• Super Mario World
• Super Mario Kart
• Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
• Super Metroid
• Super Puyo Puyo 2

As Nintendo points out in its press release, this is the first time that Stunt Race FX, Super Soccer, and Super Tennis are available again since its original release for the SNES. This is also the first time that Super Puyo Puyo 2 is available in the United States.
For the record, all of these SNES games for the Switch support the rewind feature and online and local multiplayer.
To Complete The Package: SNES Controllers For The Switch
Back in September 2018, Nintendo added NES games to Switch Online and introduced a wireless NES controller. It's pretty much doing the same thing this time around for the SNES, as it's also launching a wireless SNES controller, which had been revealed even before its official announcement via filings at the Federal Communications Commission or FCC.
According to the company, the SNES controller will retail for $29.99 a pop. It's exclusive only to Switch Online members, and only up to four can be ordered per Nintendo account.
