Tesla is rolling out chess for the Tesla Arcade today, and its teaser video is just as entertaining as the game itself.
Chess is just the latest in Tesla’s efforts to integrate games to their vehicles.
Chess For The Tesla Arcade
Starting today, Tesla owners can play chess on their in-car infotainment system. This means that apart from the Tesla Arcade games they get to play, they can now either play chess with other passengers, watch it play against itself, or even play against the car. In fact, the amusing marketing video that came with the announcement has a Western-style concept that has the car and its owner locked in a classic standoff.
“When your car can do zero-to-sixty faster than you can make your next move, we call that a checkmate,” Tesla tweeted.
Apart from adding chess to the system, the company also announced that the kart racing game that can be controlled using the car’s steering wheel, Beach Buggy Racing, will now allow two game controllers at once for a multiplayer experience.
Teslatari And Tesla Arcade
It was the Teslatari that was first introduced to Tesla owners, allowing them to play classic '70s and '80s Atari games such as Asteroids in their cars. However, even then, CEO Elon Musk has stated that it was only the beginning of the gaming venture for Tesla, as they are planning to add more Atari games and even games from other companies.
At E3 last month, Musk revealed the first images of Cuphead as well as a racing game working on a Tesla 3, and a few days later, the Tesla Arcade was launched. Now, with the latest addition of chess, there’s no saying which games Tesla will add to the Teslatari and the Tesla arcade next, but it is clear that the company is having a bit of fun with them as well.
