Nintendo is rolling out Update 3.0 for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on Wednesday, adding a handful of features such as a stage creator and a video editor. On top of those, those who pay for the Challenger Pack DLC are also getting Joker from Persona 5.
Nintendo revealed all that's coming in a new 15-minute video, detailing Joker's moveset for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In the game, he'll use a gun, grappling hook, and the curse-type skill Eiha to attack opponents. In addition, he can also employ his Rebel Guard defense to deflect damage and fill his Rebellion Gauge. When that's full, Joker can summon his Arsene persona to help in while in combat. With Arsene, Joker's abilities are boosted, lending him new and more powerful moves.
Joker's Final Smash is called All-Out Attack, which summons his fellow Phantom Thieves for an epic melee. Finally, his taunt brings Morgana into battle.
Challenger Pack
The Challenger Pack, which costs $5.99, also includes a Persona-themed stage and 11 music tracks from Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5. The stage will adjust its color scheme based on the Persona game the music comes from as well.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Update 3.0
Even those not paying for the optional DLC will still receive a few things. There's of course the aforementioned Stage Builder, which will let players create stage platforms using the touchscreen when in handheld mode. Then there's the video editor, which will allow players to stitch a highlight reel of their best plays and share them online. Players will be able to view each other's videos and download stages made by other gamers.
Joker may be purchased standalone, but he'll also be part of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter Pass. Five bundles will be included in this package, each with its own fighter, stage, and music. The entire pass will cost $24.99 once it's out.
