HTC is expected to unveil the latest flagship smartphone for the country at the upcoming CES 2015. However, HTC looks like it will be ready to introduce only at least one other device, as the smartphone manufacturer from Taiwan hinted through a teaser picture.
The teaser picture, which was posted by HTC on its social media page on Sina Weibo, features the tagline "Always Desire more." The picture also included the times and dates of the company's press events at CES 2015.
While the post does not serve to confirm anything, the teaser image brings weight to reports earlier made by Upleaks, a noted leaker, which said that HTC will be revealing at least one Desire smartphone at the upcoming CES 2015.
Upleaks noted that HTC will be introducing its new flagship, the HTC Hima, which could also be the HTC One M9, some time in March and once the Mobile World Congress wraps up. The unveiling of the HTC Hima, which is one of the most anticipated smartphones for next year after its packed specification sheet surfaced in Antutu, will likely not be made at the CES 2015.
Reports have surfaced that the HTC Hima will be released with variants for being powered up by either Android Lollipop 5.0 or Windows Phone 8.1. The display will reportedly be measuring 5.2 inches.
HTC Hima's unveiling in March would coincide with the launch of the company's previous flagship smartphone One M8, which was unveiled in March 2014.
Upleaks thinks that HTC will be launching another selfie-focused smartphone, named the Desire A52. The Desire A52 could have a similar high-resolution, 13-megapixel front camera to the Desire Eye, which was recently released, and the upcoming new flagship of the company.
Most of the specifications for the Desire A52 remain unclear. However, according to Upleaks, the smartphone will have a 4-megapixel, rear-facing UltraPixel camera, support for dual SIM usage, and storage of either 16GB or 32GB.
Similar to the bright colors of its Desire smartphones, HTC could be releasing the Desire A52 in several combinations of color, with options including navy blue and vivid blue, terra white and almond, taupe purple and tangerine tango, and terra white and tangerine tango.
HTC's year has been an interesting one, with sales not reaching figures as high as the company had wanted. However, the company was still able to make some profits from its revenues as strategic cost reductions applied over the year have taken effect.
