THQ Nordic, formerly known as Nordic Games, isn't making it to the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year.
That means there isn't any chance of seeing Darksiders III or Biomutant at the event anymore.
Why THQ Nordic Isn't Coming
According to THQ Nordic, it has decided to drink beer and watch the 2018 FIFA World Cup instead of attending E3 2018.
"It is with great regret that we at THQ Nordic must report that we will be unable to miss a single moment of this great sporting event. Therefore, we will be forced to stay in our lovely Viennese beer gardens, blowing the froth off a couple, watching football and one or two cool press conferences on Twitch (looking at you, Devolver) instead of rocking it ourselves," the company writes.
Interestingly, the company mentions Devolver Digital in its open letter. That's presumably because of its insane press conference back in E3 2017.
Where Will Its Games Be Showcased?
THQ Nordic skipping E3 2018 is bad news for its fans, especially for those eager to get a closer look at Darksiders III and Biomutant. The good news is, it's set to appear at Gamescom 2018 from Aug. 21 to 25 in Cologne, Germany, and PAX West from Sept. 1 to 4 in Seattle.
On top of that, the company is going to present Fade to Silence and Wreckfest and a slew of other unannounced titles there too.
The takeaway here is that fans will have to exercise patience and wait for other big conventions to kick off before they get more info about the developer's upcoming games.
Now E3 2018 is shaping up to be one heck of an event. For starters, there's Nintendo, and it's taking the wraps off the Super Smash Bros. for the Switch by holding a tournament.
More than that, Microsoft is teasing its "biggest showing ever," though it didn't say much other than that. It could unveil Halo 6, but that could be wishful thinking.
Last but not least, CD Projekt Red might reveal more details about its highly anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077. While that's not a sure thing yet, the developer did confirm it'll be there at the convention.
