Google recently released its annual list of the most popular searched terms from around the world. While we all googled Ebola, the death of Robin Williams and the World Cup, when we weren't reading the news, we were searching for things to eat and drink.
Despite the rising hipster trend of drinking craft beer, according to Google we still favor a good ole' American Budwiser. Corona, Keystone, Miller and Blue Moon round out the top five, and the hipster favorite PBR also made the top 10 list.
When it comes to the hard stuff, drinkers are searching for margaritas the most, followed by the other popular cocktails including martini, sangria, mojito and mimosa. Hey, it's always five o'clock somewhere.
Unsurprisingly, pizza takes the cake for being the most searched food term this year. And who doesn't love pizza? Not many since it was Google searched more than the World Cup.
Kale and quinoa were so last year. In 2014, chia seeds and goji berries were new foodie search favorites. Goji berries, a native Asian fruit high in antioxidants, was the superfood with the highest spikes in searches.
On a global scale, Chinese food was searched more than French and Indian food. Strangely enough, people in Japan searched for French food more than those in France, and Australians searched for Argentinian food more than its country of origin.
Google users also commonly searched, "What is a cronut?" The cronut now ranks number 17 on the global recipe list after only making its debut last year.
When it comes to eating in or dinning out, Google revealed more and more people are going to restaurants than cooking meals at home, finding that "restaurant" was Googled more than "recipe."
But after all that eating out, many people are still searching for diets. The Paleo diet was the most searched diet, followed by the Atkins Diet, the Gluten-Free Diet and the Mediterranean Diet.
