Actor Dimitri Diatchenko, who's had small roles on shows like Sons of Anarchy and also appeared in films like Chernobyl Diaries and Burning Palms (seen above), is now charged with two felonies and faces nearly five years in prison if convicted after allegedly skinning and then eating the pet rabbit of an ex-girlfriend.
That sounds bad already, but even worse, Diatchenko took step-by-step pictures of him killing, skinning, cooking and then eating the rabbit. And in case you didn't think it could possibly get and creepier, he then told his ex he would do the same thing to her, according to police.
This all happened after Diatchenko's ex insisted that the two no longer live together. They had been sharing the same house even after their break-up. In hindsight, it's not hard to see why Diatchenko might not have been the best roommate.
So what is Diatchenko saying on the matter? He insists it's all just one big misunderstanding.
"This is all a misunderstanding. We got into an argument, but I didn't kill the bunny. This was a hoax," he says to KCAL9. He goes on to say that he bought a bunny at the pet store and set his ex's free so that she would think it was her bunny that would be found in her refrigerator half eaten.
Because buying a rabbit from the pet store, killing it and then using it to trick somebody into believing that you just killed their rabbit is totally so much better.
Not.
Interestingly enough, a reporter for KCAL9 says they spoke to a woman who identified herself as Diatchenko's ex-girlfriend. She also says the incident is a misunderstanding, and that her bunny hasn't actually been harmed. She says her bunny was in the closet the whole time, though she declined to provide recent pictures of the rabbit alive and well. Diatchenko's ex initially notified police of the incident.
It's all completely bizarre and disturbing, but hey, that's Hollywood.
