A day before its scheduled release date on Jan. 23, Ubisoft dropped the trailer for the Assassin's Creed Origins DLC pack called "The Hidden Ones."
As expected, the trailer provided a visual treat of the things to unfold, courtesy of "The Hidden Ones," which takes place four years after the main event of the original title. The theater of skirmishes is now focused on the Sinai Peninsula with the Roman Empire's occupation of Egypt serving as the backdrop.
Ubisoft has already indicated that the Origin expansion will be on the PS4, the Xbox One, and PC. The additional content is available as a standalone download for only $10 but for season pass holders, it will be a free package.
The teaser detailed the conflict between the Assassin Brotherhood and the occupying army sent from Rome. Included in the clip shown is the sacking of Egyptian cities and the wholesale slaughter of helpless civilians.
True to their principle of always sheltering the innocents, the Brotherhood launched a campaign of retaliation. As the trailer showed, this campaign will be among the core subjects of the additional Origin storyline.
'The Hidden Ones' DLC Package
As the Assassins and Templars slug it out in the first Origin expansion, players will get to unlock fresh items for the taking. There will be two new legendary weapons, a couple of mounts, more weapons, and a new outfit. Most notably, the game's level cap will be boosted to 45.
If the original game operated on a lingering struggle that will impact on the fate of humanity, "The Hidden Ones" is not veering away from the same treatment. This new chapter of the Assassin's Creed Origin will showcase a fresh rendition of the old menu but with specks of unfamiliar battlegrounds.
More Things To Come
According to Ubisoft, the upcoming DLC is but the start of the Origin expansion. As the company already revealed, there will be a second and last DLC to unpack on March 6 titled "The Curse of the Pharaohs." As implied, the upcoming chapter will work its way around the ancient but rich Egyptian mythology.
Specifically, the final DLC will tackle of departed royalties that were reanimated to menace the living. It is the Brotherhood's task to battle the dead pharaohs and their cohort of beasts while, at the same time, find ways to break the deadly spell.
As in the case of the first DLC, players can look forward to acquiring new gears, outfits, and weapons, and the contents can be downloaded for only $20. Again for season pass holders, the expansion will come at no additional cost.
