Gift wrapping is hard, if not nearly impossible. Ever year, wrapping gifts seems like a life or death encounter that you might not survive. You intentionally buy fewer presents for your loved ones just so you won't have to wrap so many (you monster). Then what happens if you buy a tie for someone? How do you even wrap a tie?
We get it -- we've all been there. We suck at wrapping gifts too, but there are a select few "chosen ones" who have perfected the art of gift-wrapping. This worker at the Takashimaya Department Store in Japan is one of them. Look on in despair.
But there is hope! Perhaps we may learn from this gift-wrapping master. It all looks so simple. Two corners of the wrapping paper go over the small box, are taped in place, and then suddenly the entire box is covered in paper. Rinse and repeat for the other side and it's done. Two pieces of tape. No ridiculous corner folding. No scissors. No swearing. No tears. That took, like, 10 seconds. Will it work for gifts other than the small box shapes seen in the video? Who knows, but it's worth a try.
Of course, when we try this it will take more like 10 minutes than 10 seconds, but perhaps with time we can all learn from this video and perfect our skills at wrapping tiny boxes. Wrapping doesn't have to be hard; we've just been making it that way.
