There's something almost nauseating about traditional Christmas music. Maybe it's the fact that it's played ad nauseam, or maybe it's the fact that it's nothing but good, sweet, pure, wholesome family fun for three months non-stop. Either way, Christmas carols get old long before the holiday arrives - unfortunately, there's little that people can do to change it.
Unless you're acclaimed actor and knight Christopher Lee, that is. Most people will probably recognize Lee as the villain from the worst Star Wars movie, or as the villain from The Lord of the Rings, but there's a side of the man that few are familiar with. Not only has Lee has just released his third Christmas carol in three years, but it's far from traditional holiday music. You may be asking yourself, "How is his stuff any different?"
It's heavy metal, that's how.
Despite being 90 years old (and no, that's not a typo - he's 90), Lee has consistently released a new heavy-metal take on Christmas classics every year for the past three, and even owns his own studio - Charlemagne Productions. In addition to providing the vocals for some of the best Christmas music ever, Lee released his first standalone album last year, too. It seems like age isn't slowing the former Sith Lord down at all...
So, if you need a break from "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" or "Frosty the Snowman," why not listen to Dracula belt out some Frank Sinatra classics with electric guitars blaring in the background?
That voice singing those lyrics is absolutely amazing. This really is a Christmas miracle.
