Stranger Things: The Game For iOS And Android Will Get You Ready For Season 2

Stranger Things Season 2 is just a few weeks away, and to help fans prepare for it, Netflix has released a retro-inspired game for iOS and Android devices.

In Stranger Things: The Game, players can relive the first season of the hit show while waiting for its highly anticipated second season.

Here's What You Need To Know About 'Stranger Things: The Game'

Netflix teamed up with developer BonusXP for Stranger Things: The Game, which looks like an action-adventure title for retro consoles such as the SNES. The style is certainly appropriate, given the series' penchant of evoking nostalgia with its '80s theme.

Stranger Things: The Game is free to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store with absolutely no in-app purchases, but it certainly does not play like one. It is a surprisingly deep and fun mobile game that will welcome newcomers to the franchise and will not disappoint its fans.

In Stranger Things: The Game, players will enjoy a top-down title with a story that is loosely based on the first season of the Netflix show. There will be scenes lifted directly from season 1, but there will also be some deviations to the plot.

Designed for touchscreen devices, players will be able to move their characters and interact with objects by simply tapping on the display. There are elements of combat and puzzle solving, and players will be able to unlock more characters with different skills as they progress in the game. There will be some inaccessible areas early on, but players can come back to them after finding the necessary item or unlocking certain characters.

In total, Stranger Things: The Game offers more than 10 hours of gameplay, seven playable characters, six dungeons, and more than 30 quests.

Players who are able to complete the game's VHS library by collecting all the Eggos and Gnomes will be able to unlock secret characters as well as never-before-seen videos from season 2.

'Stranger Things' Season 2 Release Date

Stranger Things Season 2 is set to launch on Oct. 27, and on that day, Netflix will update Stranger Things: The Game to add more content and characters.

Several new cast members will be featured in the second season of Stranger Things, including Sean Astin and Paul Reiser. It has also been previously revealed that Stranger Things Season 2 will have a darker theme with more horror, according to Finn Wolfhard, the actor who plays Mike. The second season will pick up a year after the events from the first season.
