'Stranger Things' Season 2: New Cast Members Join The Netflix Sleeper Horror Series

Season one of Netflix' hit original Series Stranger Things left its viewers with and intense cliff hanger and left-over nostalgia that made viewers excited for season two. An air date for the hit show's sophomore season is yet to be announced, but many questions are still left unanswered about Mike and the rest of the gang, especially after Eleven's seeming departure and Will's strange sightings near the end of the season.

Rumours have been going around about season two's plot as well as which of the beloved characters will return and which ones will not. However, the only thing that's almost certain (at least if rumours are true) is that Barb is unlikely to return, though her character may remain present in the form of her forlorn best friend Nancy.

Season Two of Stranger Things is said to pick up a roughly a year after the events of season one. As considerable amount of time has already passed, new storylines and characters are expected to emerge. Some of them you already know, and others are fresh faces that could bring more color to the sleepy 80's town.

Sean Astin as Bob Newby

Versatile actor Sean Astin gave us iconic roles such as Mikey Walsh in the Goonies (1985) and loyal and trusty Samwise Gamgee in Lord of the Rings. In season two, Astin is expected to play Joyce's (Winona Ryder) kind and nerdy new boyfriend who works at the Hawkins RadioShack. Little is known about Joyce and Bob's relationship, except that it makes Chief Hopper (David Harbour) less than happy for yet unknown reasons.

Paul Reiser as Dr. Owens

Paul Reiser is known for 1992's hit series Mad About You and 2014's Whiplash. Not much is known about the character Dr. Owens except he works for an organization tasked to clean up after the previous year's mishaps. Whether his relationship with the other characters will be supportive or obstructive is yet to be known.

Linnea Berthelsen as Roman

Fairly new Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen will play Roman. Even littler information is known about the character or her relevance to the story, but Netflix describes the character as "an emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child. Although she does not live in Hawkins, she is mysteriously connected to the supernatural events at the lab..."

With the mysterious character profile, is it possible that Roman will be just like Eleven, or will her connection be a little bit deeper? Who knows? Netflix does, actually.

Sadie Sink as Max & Dacre Montgomery as Billy

Sadie Sink from The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will play Max who is described as shy and complicated whilst young actor Dacre Montgomery, starring in this year's Power Rangers, will play her step sibling Billy who is described as "violent and unpredictable."

Whether the step-siblings are related to any of the old characters is unknown, though it's possible given their age that the connection will be with Nancy.

It looks like Season one was just an introduction to a much deeper story and even more developed characters. With new information coming out about season two, all its making us is excited for the continuation of the story of characters we have grown to love. Who knows? We could meet numbers One to Ten in season two. In Hawkins, Indiana, it seems like anything is possible.
