The Suicide Squad movie is a thing, and according to a new report, Warner Bros. and director David Ayer are preparing to begin shooting the first scenes in Toronto, Canada, next year.
From what we've come to understand, the working title for the film is Bravo 14, and filming is expected to begin in mid-April, 2015. It is not 100 percent certain how long it would take, but The Hollywood Reporter claims on the ground filming should end by September, 2015, so that is around 4 months of vigorous filming in Canada.
Post production is not expected to take too long since the movie is no Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. If the latter film succeeds at the box office, then Warner Bros. would be hoping Suicide Squad could ride on that success and make a name for itself in the eyes of moviegoers.
Who are the stars?
While it was rumored that Jai Courtney would take on the role of Deadshot, it has been confirmed that Will Smith will play the role instead. Instead of Deadshot, Courtney will be taking on the role of Boomerang. Margot Robbie has also been cast as the fan favourite Harley Quinn while Jared Leto is expected to walk in the footsteps of Heath Ledger as The Joker. Tom Hardy will also be portraying Rick Flagg.
What is the movie about?
At the moment, we can't say for sure. All we know is that the Suicide Squad is made up of criminals who are used by the A.R.G.U.S to perform impossible tasks. These missions are so dangerous; A.R.G.U.S won't dare send its own men.
We should point out that Amanda Waller is the head of A.R.G.U.S, and she is the person who gives orders to the Squad. We expect her to be in the film, though as of yet, it is not clear who will play her character. We hope Warner Bros. takes its time here because she is a sophisticated person and needs a powerful actress to bring her to the big screen.
Suicide Squad is expected to be released in theaters on Aug. 5, 2015.
