Trusted smartphone tipster Evan Blass has now admitted that the Moto X4 image he published last month, which shows the phone's dual cameras, isn't the final design.
Last month's render puts the flash below the sensors, but Blass has now followed up with another image showing what he claims is indeed the final design.
Moto X4 Dual Cameras
This time, the new image shows the flash above the dual cameras — hardly a radical change. Reports say the dual cameras will employ the Moto Z2 Force's shooting technique, in which one camera captures in color, and the other captures scenes in monochrome. The camera processing will combine the two photos, resulting in shots with sophisticated depth effects, natural black and white effects, and more.
"Hardest part of this is admitting you had bad information — or an early render. I've seen the Moto X4 final design — it is indeed this one," said Blass in a tweet.

Moto X4 Design
Apart from the dual cameras, the Moto X4 also seems like one of the company's sleeker flagships, as seen on images depicting its design. The front and back panels feature sheen-abundant metal, and it looks svelte and luxurious.
In addition to the gorgeous new design, the leaked images also suggest crucial information about the phone, including a metal and 3D glass build, a smart camera, IP68 rating for water resistance, artificial intelligence integration, and an always-on voice.
Moto X4 Specs
Rumors say the Moto X4 will sport a 5.2-inch Full HD display, with either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 or 660 chip powering the whole thing. It will have 32 GB of onboard storage and pack 4 GB of RAM, which is plenty enough. The battery leaves much to be desired at only 3,000 mAh, and it will also have a fingerprint scanner that serves as the home button.
The device has been spotted both in GFXBench and Geekbench, suggesting it'll have 11-megapixel dual cameras that can record 4K video. Oddly, the front camera sports a higher megapixel count at 15, according to GFXBench, but again, these are all just still rumors. Expect due coverage once we learn more.
The phone was previously rumored to launch this summer, but the period's almost over so Motorola could unveil it during IFA Berlin this September instead. If you have any thoughts about the Moto X4 feel free to sound off in the comments section below!
