Prolific leaker Evan Blass has revealed the final specifications of Samsung's highly anticipated Galaxy Note 8, following the high-quality Galaxy Note 8 renders that he recently uploaded.
Samsung fans who have been following all the news regarding the Galaxy Note 8 will likely not be surprised with the final specifications, but Blass' confirmation should serve as the final reminder to start saving up for the smartphone.
Galaxy Note 8 Final Specs Leaked
In addition to the previously reported render of the Galaxy Note 8's front, Blass has released renders of all sides of the smartphone, including the S Pen stylus.
Now that we know what the Galaxy Note 8 will look like, Blass has reported the device's internals. The specifications were acquired by Blass from a source who has been briefed on the Galaxy Note 8's final configuration.
Galaxy Note 8 Design And Display
The body of the Galaxy Note 8, which is IP68-certified, is almost identical to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones that were released earlier this year. The measurements of the device are 162.5mm x 74.6mm, with a thickness of 8.5mm, and it will first ship in Maple Gold and Midnight Black, followed by Deep Sea Blue and Orchid Grey.
The Galaxy Note 8's 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display is only larger by 0.1 inch compared to the Galaxy S8+, but its corners are more prominent compared to the rounded edges of the Galaxy S8. The display will feature a resolution of 1,440 x 2,960, with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio similar to the Galaxy S8.
Galaxy Note 8 Processor And RAM
The Galaxy Note 8 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 in the United States and Samsung's own Exynos 8895 everywhere else, similar to the set-up for the Galaxy S8. The Galaxy Note 8, however, will see a boost in RAM from 4 GB to 6 GB, supported by internal storage of 64 GB and expandable memory through a microSD card slot.
Galaxy Note 8 Camera
The Galaxy Note 8 will be the first Samsung smartphone to have dual rear cameras, both featuring 12 MP sensors and optical image stabilization. The primary wide-angle lens features an aperture of f/1.7 and dual-pixel autofocus, while the secondary telephoto lens allows for 2x optical zoom. The front-facing camera, meanwhile, is an 8 MP one with an f/1.7 autofocus lens.
Galaxy Note 8 Battery
The battery of the Galaxy Note 8 is an important subject, as the component was the downfall of its predecessor, the failed Galaxy Note 7. For the upcoming smartphone, the battery will have a capacity of 3,300 mAh, compared to 3,500 mAh in the Galaxy Note 7, and can be recharged either through its USB-C port or wirelessly.
Galaxy Note 8 Price
If these final specifications for the Galaxy Note 8 excite you, be ready to shell out possibly higher than $1,000 for the smartphone.
The Galaxy Note 8 will be officially announced on Aug. 23 at an Unpacked event in New York.
