'The Flash': Could Dr. Harrison Wells be a New God or Pariah?

The Flash is one of the hottest superhero TV shows running right now. Since the first episode, fans have been debating who Dr. Harrison Wells is. He knows of The Flash from the future. Warner Bros, of course, is not interested in spilling the beans, but we're going to take a shot at figuring out his origins.

Harrison Wells is the founder of S.T.A.R Labs. He's also the creator of the particle accelerator that gave Barry Allen his power. Many died due to the blast, and it caused Wells to be moving around in a wheelchair.

As it stands, however, that is not the full story. Wells is definitely capable of walking, and he knows of things that will happen the future. In the previous episode of The Flash, the character is seen talking to a computer that goes by the name of Gideon. Right away, our brains began to kick into gear because we've heard of this name before.

You see, Gideon is one of the New Gods in the comics, a general in fact. That means there's a huge possibility for Wells being a New God as well. The fact that he traverses in a wheelchair makes him similar to a New God who goes by the name of Metron. The chair Metron moves in is capable of allowing him to travel through time, so it is not too farfetched to claim that Wells is indeed Metron.

Then again, we could be wrong about everything. It is clear that Wells is more interested in making sure that the future where The Flash vanishes in the Red Sky Crisis does not disappear. He wants Barry to be part of this future, but why? If he cares about him, why push him towards such a bleak future?

Well, the Red Sky Crisis could be a story along the lines of Crisis on Infinite Earths. Knowing the part Barry Allen played in taking down the Anti-Monitor, Wells could be making sure that he survives all his ordeals to reach that point.

Finally, we want to add that Wells could be Pariah, a brilliant super scientist from the future. There was a slight hint in a past episode when Wells mentioned that he felt like a pariah. Furthermore, Wells is a man who wants to eliminate all disease, which is something the Pariah did in the comics.

The whole thing is crazy, but we will continue to monitor what happens in future episodes.
